"It’s been over three years since I started advertising in Women’s Edition—since September 10, 1997. How time flies!
I want you to know that I am extremely happy with the results of my ad. As you may remember, in the beginning I was reluctant to put out the money; it has been a good investment! About two-thirds of my advertising budget goes to WE, resulting in about one-third of my students and one-third of my inquiries. Approximately two-thirds of those inquiries resulting from WE become students. They seem to appreciate education a little more than those who get our number from the phone book--at the least they’re willing to pay for help.
When people call for information I ask them how they found Reading Plus. Some know it was Women’s Edition; others say they saw it in a magazine or in the paper. Since this is an interview situation, I credit those answers to WE since I don’t advertise anywhere else except the phone book. One grandmother told me she had “cut out your ad and carried in my purse because I knew my grandchild was going to need help.” Another mother said she decided to call because “You looked like such a kind, understanding person” in the picture that accompanied the ad. That’s a credit to the photographer.

"A couple of years ago, Roxy Eades walked into my office and convinced us advertising with your magazine would benefit our company. In all honesty, we had never advertised and we had strictly relied on “word-of-mouth.” We were skeptical, but we agreed to give your magazine a try and we’ve been pleased with the results.
The professionalism and courtesy of your staff was very impressive. I insisted on doing the artwork for our ads myself. I was green under the collar and knew nothing of the printing business and the parameters I needed to work within. Everyone there was eager to teach me. First of all I would have to say it is the excellent customer service we get from our salesperson, Roxy Eades. She makes it virtually painless to put together an ad. She always reminds us when she needs the next ad with plenty of lead time for us. She even comes to pick them up. She also watches for the best space placement. We are an art gallery and Roxy called us when there was an open space on the “Interiors by Design” Page.
The staff are always good about making changes to the ads, and to date, I don’t recall any errors when the ad ran.
