As I write this, it is a beautiful and warm January day. It sounds like a bit of an oxymoron to use the words “warm” and “January” when describing the weather, but it is true. The high for today is supposed to reach 64 degrees! Although I know better, it feels as though spring is about to emerge.

By the time you are reading this February issue, I am guessing that we might not be as fortunate with the unseasonably mild temperatures. And being a farmer’s daughter, I would be remiss not to mention that (as always) we need the moisture. Regardless and despite the dull-drums of winter that often accompany February, there are things to look forward to this month!

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, take a look through this issue of Women’s Edition and consider a gift certificate purchase from any of our advertisers. Why not call a local travel agent to book that magical sandy beach vacation that you have been dreaming of? Or how about tackling a particular project that your significant other has asked you to do...more than once? Now there’s a hint for my Valentine!

February is also a month to celebrate heart health, and there is no better time than the present to give your heart a little extra love. This issue contains information on various events that can help you learn healthy ways to cook, as well as ways to make better food choices.

Until next time, stay warm and have a fabulous February! Also, remember that Women’s Edition is a free publication. We encourage you to take a copy with you to enjoy or share with a friend!

POSITIVE THOUGHT OF THE MONTH

“Winter is a time of promise because there is so little to do, or because you can now and then permit yourself the luxury of thinking so.” —Stanley Crawford
