| If
you are considering a move in the near future, you might want to take
a drive down Highway 965 in North Liberty to see Creekside Condominiums.
They offer a picturesque park-like setting next to a private pond, and
they are conveniently located at Sadler Lane—minutes from downtown
Iowa City. There are many things to do nearby, with a mall just five
minutes away and an endless listing of great dining and entertainment
establishments. Danette Raley says, “I really enjoy living and
working in the Iowa City area. I love the community, and I’m highly
involved with many activities.” Danette became a full-time Realtor in 1987. She is now the broker and owner of RE/MAX Partners. “RE/MAX gave me the opportunity to become my own business owner, marketing where and how I chose, allowing me true growth potential.” Danette knew she wanted to build something spectacular, so when Barry Frantz of Frantz Construction and Jodi Kelley approached Danette and John with the idea of 72 condominiums on a pond with a park, they liked the idea from the start. “We were immediately attracted to it. Barry and Jodi worked with us before on a very successful project in 2001 at Coral Court, and we knew we would enjoy working with them again.” Danette thought she had found the perfect location in North Liberty. She knew from the moment she stood on the bare ground that this was going to be something wonderful, she says. There was a great need for upscale, affordable condominiums in the Corridor area. And Danette and her husband, John, wanted to bring a housing option to the market that did not exist. All of the condos have wireless Internet and a complete whole-house sound system for music in any room, along with satellite music and satellite TV. The music that played softly in the background during my tour created a unique surround sound no matter where we were located inside what I thought was a beautifully decorated condo. The color tones are rich and soft, creating a peaceful atmosphere. It was easy to visualize someone curling up on the sofa next to the fireplace to read for the afternoon. Danette pointed out many other upgrades, such as Clean Steel appliances, a Fisher Paykal washer and dryer with a water sensor, a Bosch dishwasher, and a 93%-efficiency furnace with a Five Star rating. There are also nine-foot ceilings, wood floors, and upgraded countertops and lighting. These added features give Creekside Condominiums a premium air of excellence without the premium price, Danette says. “For just a few dollars more you will get significantly more value.” Locating near Iowa City was a natural for Danette after studying economics and finance at the university. She is also an alumni member of the University of Iowa women’s swim team. “I’ve had the incredible privilege to help coaches and students relocate to the Iowa City area, raise a family, and build a career here. I take pride in making each and every client’s transition a smooth one,” she points out. With a need for condos for business professionals and corporate relocations, one of the six buildings is retained for leasing options. Danette explains, “This is a great opportunity for people who are relocating here to try the area before making a decision to buy.” These condos are pet-friendly, and Danette’s team works very hard with clients to assure them a relaxing move. Danette takes pride in the warm and friendly interaction with her team, Diane Slaughter, assistant realtor, and Chelsey Speers, marketing coordinator/office manager. I found the atmosphere to be welcoming and inviting as Diane and Chelsey shared their work experience. Diane says, “She is a friend as well as my boss. We are a team, and we cover for each other and complement one another.” Chelsey adds, “We each have different skills, and that is what makes this a great team. We really enjoy working together, helping clients find great homes and creating a transition that is comfortable.” Danette shares, “They are simply wonderful, highly accommodating, and ready to jump in and do anything.” Danette has a long history in real estate, beginning with her father who was also in the business. Danette says, “My father literally taught me everything he knew.” Danette has great business sense to ensure that her clients’ needs are thoroughly met. “What I truly enjoy is the one-on-one with people. My heart is working with the families.” Danette is loyal to her clients. Many have become longtime friends, often referring other people to Danette for their real estate needs. Danette began building her own real estate business with the help of great mentors at every stage. She says, “My mentors have been very important along this challenging road. I would be remiss not to mention how much Chip Miller at Iowa Realty has contributed to my career. Also, Rex Brandstatter, who expanded my possibilities with RE/MAX and the late Jerry Zaiser helped train me in valuing homes and analyzing investment properties.” Danette’s early career took a productive turn when she met John in 1991. They began buying older homes and fully renovating them. They worked side by side doing the renovating, investments, and eventually building a great business, Danette shares. This helped Danette better understand all of the aspects of building. When she began the Creekside Condominiums project, she really understood the importance of great quality in the structure as well as the elaborate interior upgrades. “Building these condos from the ground up, I was able to ensure the best was put into every aspect.” You can learn more at www.creeksidecondos.net or www.theraleyteam.com.
