What is Women’s Edition magazine?
Women’s Edition magazine is a monthly, glossy publication that
targets active women ages 25 to 54+ in the middle to upper income levels.
Women’s Edition began in Omaha, Nebraska and has been successfully
publishing there since June of 1986. Women’s Edition has since
expanded and is currently publishing in nine other markets, which include:
Des Moines, IA, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, IA, Quad Cities of IA and IL,
Lincoln, NE, Johnson County, KS, South Metro Denver, CO, Northwest Denver,
CO, West Denver, CO and Colorado Springs, CO.
Are any territories not available?
Yes. All territories in Nebraska and Iowa are currently taken.
Who should invest in a Women’s Edition
franchise?
A Women’s
Edition magazine franchise is the perfect match for an entrepreneur
looking for a business management/sales business. We are
looking for owner/operators only. No publishing, art or writing experience
is necessary. SALES ability is a must! This can be accomplished by
the owner or by employing a highly qualified sales person. The city you
plan
on working in, must have a minimum geographic population of 250,000.
Who
should not invest in a Women’s
Edition franchise?
Anyone whose primary focus is publishing, journalism,
art or writing is not a good match to a Women’s Edition franchise.
What are my responsibilities
as a Women's Edition franchisee?
You are NOT selling magazine
subscriptions. Rather, as a franchisee, you are responsible for selling
advertising in your territory to be placed
in your local edition of Women's Edition. This is how revenue is generated.
In addition, you will be responsible for a limited number of “localized” stories
which will feature local businesses in your city, following a simple,
clear format. You will also be responsible for servicing your advertising
accounts. All of the necessary procedures are coved in our manual as
well as in our training program.
What
does a Women’s Edition franchise provide me?
By investing in a
Women’s Edition franchise, you will share in
the economies of our publishing group. Each month, we will produce
and print a magazine for your local territory, to include providing
the front
cover and a large majority of the editorial. In addition, ongoing
support is provided through our National Headquarters.
Why shouldn’t I just start my own
magazine?
Statistics show that most magazines fail within the first six months
of publishing. Others struggle along for a few years, rarely showing
a profit. In Omaha, since Women’s Edition has been publishing,
there have been over ten different local magazines that have come and
gone. By joining our publishing group, you will be provided support from
our marketing, sales and art & editorial departments. You will
be mentored by people who have years of experience in making Women's
Edition
successful.
Why should I buy a Women’s Edition Franchise?
• We Can Train You to Sell Advertising (Sales Experience Necessary)
• Exclusive Territories
• Successfully Publishing for over 20 years
• Business to Business (work when others work, play when others play)
• Minimal Employees
• No Spoilage!
What is the initial investment?

from Women’s Edition, Inc., range from $29,515.00 to $31,600.00.
The estimated initial investment required ranges from $55,855.00 to
$77,590.00. This will cover all costs for the first three months, estimated
time
from startup to first Local Edition being printed, shipped and distributed,
including salaries.
What does it take to financially qualify?
We normally require new franchisees to have a net worth of at least
$150,000.00, a liquid net worth of at least $100,000.00, and 5 years
experience. We
will consider waiving the experience requirement for persons with substantial
net worth. We will consider waiving the net worth requirement if the
proposed franchisee has substantial sales experience, particularly
in the Women’s Edition system.
Do you offer third party financing?
No.
What is your franchise fee?
$27,550
How do I learn how to run my Women’s Edition
Franchise?
With our training and ongoing support, you will learn everything you
need to know to run your Women’s Edition Franchise.
What happens once the publication is launched in my area?
Women’s Edition provides ongoing support and training, in all
areas for as long as you own your franchise.
